Next Baltic Snow Call will be on 20-24 February 2019 in Nallikari Oulu Finland

Top sculptors will create stunning snow sculptures in a four day contest, total of 40 hours of working time. Each team starts with a 3-meter-high block of snow to carve unique sculpture by using only hand tools.

Baltic Snow Call begins by contest briefing at Wednesday and culminates to closure celebration with illuminated snow sculptures at Saturday evening.

The awards ceremony will be held at Sunday at the contest site when three best teams will be awarded. Sculptures delight us as long as weather permits.

Event is organised by Ikitalvi Union of Snow & Ice Sculptors in co-operation with Nallikari Seaside and Vauhtipuisto. The sculpting site is located right next to Nallikari Holiday Village and Nallikari Winter Village.

 


 

INTERNATIONAL SNOW SCULPING CONTEST BALTIC SNOW CALL BACK RETURNS TO NALLIKARI 20.-24.2.2019
 
BALTIC SNOW CALL 2019 is an international snow sculpting contest which brings together the world’s best snow sculptors to battle for gold and glory in Nallikari, Oulu Finland.  There are ten teams participating in this unique Finnish event. 2018 Baltic Snow Call top three are invited and the rest seven are chosen based on applications from the teams.

The contest is a part of the International Association of Snow and Ice Sculpture (AISNG) official event calendar.

Ikitalvi Ry organizes the event in co-operation with Nallikari Seaside Oy and Vauhtipuisto Oy. The event is held in the immediate vicinity of Nallikari Holiday Village and Nallikari Winter Village. The internationally renowned snow sculpting professional Janne Andberg from Ikitalvi Ry is the Head of the Contest and event’s Art Director is local sculptor Anna Koivukangas from Oulu. The event’s guardian and Head of Judges is the chairman of the International Association of Snow and Ice Sculpture Juhani Lillberg.

Baltic Snow Call begins Wednesday with a press conference and lottery of the snow cubes. The teams have a total of 40 hours of sculpting time during the four days of the contest. The event will come to a grand finale through Saturday’s closing party and Sunday’s award ceremony.

The snow sculptures will be available for all to see for the rest of the winter in Nallikari.

KANSAINVÄLINEN LUMENVEISTOKILPAILU BALTIC SNOW CALL JÄLLEEN NALLIKARISSA 20.-24.2.2019

BALTIC SNOW CALL 2019 on kansainvälinen lumenveistokilpailu, joka kokoaa toistamiseen maailman huippuveistäjät mittelemään kullasta ja kunniasta Suomeen, Oulun Nallikariin. Ainutlaatuisessa Suomessa järjestettävässä lumenveistotapahtumassa kilpailee kymmenen joukkuetta. Vuoden 2018 Baltic Snow Call mitalistit Venäjä, Suomi ja Viro, saapuvat kisaan kutsuttuina, muut seitsemän joukkuetta valitaan hakemusten perusteella.

Kilpailu on mukana kansainvälisen lumen- ja jäänveistonjärjestön (AISNG) virallisessa tapahtumakalenterissa.

Tapahtuman järjestää Ikitalvi Ry yhteistyössä Nallikari Seaside Oy:n ja Vauhtipuisto Oy:n kanssa, kilpailupaikka on Nallikari Lomakylän ja Nallikarin Talvikylän välittömässä läheisyydessä. Kilpailun johtajana toimii kansainvälistä mainetta niittänyt lumenveiston ammattilainen Janne Andberg Ikitalvi Ry:stä ja tapahtuman taiteellisena johtajana oululainen veistäjä Anna Koivukangas. Kilpailun suojelijana ja tuomariston puheenjohtajana toimii Juhani Lillberg, kansainvälisen lumen- ja jäänveistojärjestön puheenjohtaja.

Baltic Snow Call alkaa keskiviikkona kilpailun tiedotustilaisuudella sekä lumikuutioiden arvonnalla. Veistoaikaa on neljän päivän aikana yhteensä 40 tuntia. Tapahtuma huipentuu päätösjuhlaan lauantai-iltana ja kilpailun palkintojenjakoon sunnuntaina.

Lumiveistokset ovat kaikkien nähtävillä lopputalven Nallikarissa.

Nallikari - The island full of fun year-around

Nallikari's location close to nature facilitates a variety of activities all year round. In summer, the sun embraces guests day and night.
